The Pamir. China at the Edge of the High Mountains.

Far west of Kashgar, the road rises above 4,000 metres into one of China’s most spectacular landscapes. Glacier lakes, vast mountain plateaus and the borders of Pakistan and Afghanistan meet a deeply rooted Tajik culture that makes the Pamir one of the most remarkable regions we have experienced anywhere in China.

Traditions Carried Across the High Plateau.
