For many years we have lived and travelled in China. Only on the road do you feel the true scale of this country and the quiet intensity of its contrasts. Remote valleys, small villages, open plateaus, vibrant cities and the calm that lies between them.

René spent two decades as an executive in a leading European strategy consulting firm. He brings clear thinking, precise preparation and an instinct for what discerning guests expect long before they speak it. His role is to give every journey structure and direction while keeping room for the unexpected.

Andrea is a composer and teacher with a natural sense for people and atmospheres. She reads situations quickly and opens conversations with ease. Many of the encounters our guests enjoy begin with her ability to connect. She gives each journey its human depth and the warmth that turns a moment into a story.

We design and test every route ourselves. Nothing is staged and nothing outsourced. We speak Chinese, German and English fluently and move between cultures in a way that helps guests understand what they see and who they meet. As Western guides living in China we translate nuance and open doors that often remain unnoticed.

We enjoy simple food and small surprises as much as quiet places and thoughtful hotels. We like conversations that happen without planning. We value trust, curiosity and the kind of openness that lets a journey take its own shape.
