We start in Chengdu. We pick you up at the airport and you first acclimatize in the city. Then we take the car for a spin in the direction of Lhasa, but turn south before the Tibetan border. 

This saves us the Tibet permit. However, as Tibetan culture can also be found in the more laid-back Sichuan, we don't miss anything. We drive south through spectacular canyons to the legendary Shangri-La. Behind it we reach Shaxi, one of the cities in northern Yunnan where artists and intellectuals retreat to enjoy the freedom they lack in the east of the country. We turn north again and take in a few more spectacular sights from 5000 years of Chinese history on the way back to Chengdu. We review the trip with a view over Chengdu from the bar on the 61st floor and take you to the airport.

We drive you, we translate, we organize. We'll show you the best restaurants, get snacks on the go and navigate through the menus for you.

We drive with a comfortable and luxurious 7-seater if we have four or five guests, with a high-end off-roader if we only have two guests, depending on the size of the group. We are a small group, two to a maximum of five guests. This means we are flexible and can cater to your individual wishes every day. We can also leave the paved roads with the off-roader, depending on your sense of adventure. 

Above all, we will show you spectacular nature and the "real China" away from the big cities. We like to stop with you at the monasteries along the way and organize local input to understand the culture, from some of the 44 local minorities to the Mao cult along the way to the strategy of rural development in this huge country.If you like.
